Stantar Kkomety is a company founded in 2023 in Cyprus, by actor and stand-up comedian Giorgos Kyriakou.
Within just three years, it has successfully established the stand-up comedy scene in the island, building a strong community of active comedians and introducing the art form to the local audience.
The company has produced three stand-up comedy festivals, as well as numerous stand-up shows, open mics, workshops, and seminars, supporting the development of the genre and fostering interaction between local and international professionals and semi-professionals.
The first two editions of the Stantar Kkomety Festival were hosted and supported by the Rialto Theatre, one of Cyprus’ leading cultural institutions. The collaboration greatly increased the festival’s visibility and played an important role in positioning stand-up comedy within Limassol’s evolving contemporary cultural scene.
The third edition became international and transformed the historic centre into a vibrant performance hub, with simultaneous gigs in multiple small venues. Parallel events in the street created a lively atmosphere, capturing the spirit of both the genre and the island. The festival introduced a diverse lineup of comedians to a wide range of audiences.
